Each institution should consider sending a team of 3-5 people for each subject and appropriate administrative team members to include:

  • Math faculty members involved in the design of corequisite courses and other student supports aligned with the implementation of AB 705 and CSU E.O. 1110
  • English faculty members involved in the design of corequisite courses and other student supports aligned with the implementation of AB 705 and CSU E.O. 1110
  • Academic and students services administrators, advisors and institutional researchers

Math

Under AB 705 and CSU E.O. 1110 students previously placed into remediation will now be enrolling in Statistics, Precalculus, Finite Math and other baccalaureate-level math courses. This workshop supports Central Valley college and university teams in the design and improvement of corequisite courses that will help students develop the skills and knowledge to successfully complete math requirements for their program of study.

English

Under Ab 705 and E.O. 1110, students previously placed into remediation will now be enrolling directly in baccalaureate-level English composition. This workshop supports Central Valley college and university teams in the design and improvement of corequisite courses that provide just-in-time remediation and support to help more students successfully complete college composition.

Through this interactive workshop, Teams will:

  • Review recent research on corequisite models of remediation
  • Explore key steps in implementing corequisite courses
  • Consider instructional changes that maintain rigor while supporting the success of a broader population of students
  • Create short-term action plans and learn about free resources available to support institutional work
  • Receive information about year-long webinar, telephone and other support from the Dana Center, California Acceleration Project, and faculty already offering corequisite models
